Shaving Cream Spelling

Students enjoyed Spelling today by practicing writing their words with shaving cream! Not only did we practice writing our words, but the desks are clean and the room smells good!

Informational Text

The recent stories in our Reading Book have been informational text. Students were put in a group to create an informational text features folder while finding examples in various examples from the library. We will then discuss the roles of these different features.

In groups or with a partner, students reviewed for their Spelling Test by doing a new set of actions. We had students swinging golf clubs, throwing a baseball, doing the hula, making fish faces, and a few others! They enjoyed reviewing for the test this way!

ThAnK yOu

Thank you so much for making my 31st birthday an awesome one! I enjoyed celebrating my birthday with the students! Thanks for the cupcakes, juice boxes, balloons, and the Project Hope Gift Certficiate! I will enjoy some shopping after parent/teacher conferences! Your thoughtfulness and generosity are greatly appreciated! I am truly blessed to work with such dedicated and supportive parents! I am truly blessed! Hopefully the kids weren't too wound up when they got home on Tuesday! :)

Main Idea Bags

Our Reding skill for this week was main idea. I had the kids create a "main idea bag" of 5-6 items that relate. Today they swapped bags and determined the main idea of their partner's bag, wrote a summary, and then created a flip book showing the main idea and illustrating the supporting details.

Heads Up - Spell Up

To review for our Spelling Test last week, the students enjoyed playing "Heads Up Spell Up"!
