Roll and Spell
Today we play "Roll and Spell" to review for Spelling. The students rolled dice and did the action assigned to that number while they spelled the word! We have quite the group of drummers and basketball players to name a few!

Safety Patrol Training
Thanks to the Omaha Police Department for sending out a police officer to train the 5th graders for Safety Patrol!
3-D SELF-PORTRAITS
Students are working on 3-D Self-Portraits in class. They needed to come up with 8 symbols that represented their interests and hobbies. Look for these at Curriculum Night on Septembe 6th!

3-D NAMES
We had our first Art Class with our new Art Teacher, Mrs. Cowman. The class was spent working on creating 3-D names by shading. The students will then work next week on decorating the different letters.
Skittles Getting To Know You and Buzz Groups
The 2012-2013 is in full force in 5B! We spent some of last week doing some "get to know you" activities. While in their Buzz Groups, students had to come up with a consensus on various questions that they had to debate! For instance, what is their favorite chore and their least favorite chore. Don't worry - they love all chores! The last activity was a Skittle activity. For all the different colors, they had to share various facts and interests.
